Neurotic...

I knew I would worry about D but, oh my.  I have been neurotic lately.  He has been choking...pretty much off and on and almost every day since he was born.  It hasn't been when he feeds...it just happens randomly.  Freaks us out.  It isn't for very long but still...it freaks me out.

The second thing is...last night I noticed that one of D's pupils was smaller than the other.  His right pupil is bigger than his left.  I thought maybe it was just my imagination...so I asked mom...she picked out the right pupil as being larger and then I asked Matt and he picked out the right pupil as being larger.  Now, I am freaked out.  Yes, I am freaked out.

We are going to call about it and see what it means.

He is also getting a cold, I'm afraid.  He seems a little congested.  I just sat and watched him last night.

ALSO, his hands and feet are always frozen..even with socks on BOTH his hands AND his feet...they are cold to the touch.  Makes me so mad I can't warm them up.  Sometimes they are warm...but most of the time they are cold.  My cousins told me their kids' hands and feet did that...and their kids STILL HAVE their hands and feet and are normal...so I am not too neurotic about that.

Let's see what else...OH, he has a little lymph node on the back of his neck right under his hairline that is swollen.  UGH!

Anyway, don't mind me...I'm just a little neurotic.

My 11 week old's hands and feet are like that, too. The only time they are warm is first thing in the morning when I undo his double swaddle. My other kids' were like that as well.

My 11 w/o is also doing the choking thing...that's new to us, and yeah, it's creepy.

He also has that swollen lymph node you mentioned. I noticed it the other night. Crazy!!

Thought it might ease your mind a TAD to know other babies have these, too. You'll never stop worrying, but it helps to know that you/your baby aren't alone. :)

Harrison has started with the stuffed up nose just the last day or two. When Jillian was little, they told me to do a couple of drops of saline in her nose and then suction it out. We are trying that for now. Hopefully both of the little guys will get rid of that soon :)!

My kids both have swollen lymphs off and on. I took Leo in for them once - no one was very concerned. They told me they swell when fighting off a bug. So since he has a cold..... I'm sure he's fine!

Wish I had some words of wisdom for you... but always check with your pediatrician if you have questions or concerns. I am sure I drove mine nuts because I was in the office every week asking questions. They were super sweet about it all but you can't put a price tag on peace of mind. I'm neurotic, too, and that's just part of being a mom. I think that since you went through so much to get Dawson, it makes you more concerned and that's okay. You are doing your job!
