Life at home has been very good. I am still trying to figure out routines and how to be a mommy. Again, mom was home with me for the first few days and she helped a lot.
I did have to go to the doctor myself a week after he was born. I pushed too hard while I was in labor and inflammed the nerves around my C1 in my neck. It is called C1 neuralgia. Talk about painful. The doc said it usually happens when you have a car wreck and your chin hits your chest. Well, my chin hit my chest many times while I pushed.
I couldn't move my neck and I was in constant pain. I cried and cried and couldn't even look down at D while I was breastfeeding! I was in so much pain. The pain in the neck caused severe headaches as well. I was miserable. There wasn't much I could take because I was breastfeeding but Dr. H gave me Valium (the lowest harmful dose of a muscle relaxer) and told me to keep take ibuprofen. I took over 100 ibuprofen in 10 days. YES, 100 in 10 days. I was told to feed D and then take a Valium to help the pain and try to wait as long as I could before I fed him again.
It has been a struggle. It hurts to lay down and by the end of the day it is so strained I can't move my neck. It HAS gotten better, thank goodness. I still take my ibuprofen and Valium to help (if not it would really start hurting). So we are going on week three with a really painful neck. NOT FUN.
I mean, everything in the vay jay jay area is just fine! It is all the secondary issues that have caused problems!!!!
