17 weeks!!!

I love my growing belly.  It is so strange because it has really popped out the last couple weeks.  The top of my tummy is getting hard...which is strange!  I cannot comfortably sleep on my stomach anymore (which stinks cause I am a tummy sleeper).  I probably have an inch of "health" on top of the belly bump but I can still tell all the same.

My dogs cannot understand why they cannot lay and walk on my stomach anymore.  Tobey, I think, senses something because he lays across my stomach like a baby and tucks his head under my chin and wants to be rocked.  And, of course, I oblige :-)

Sometimes I feel like an impostor.  I see my belly growing and I just feel like I am just getting fat and that's it.  I have to remind myself that I have a REASON for my belly to be growing.

Here is the 17 week update from

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Anyway, we find out the gender next Thursday!!!  NEXT THURSDAY!  We will know if it is Dawson or Malia!
