Nine Weeks Today!

Today I am officially NINE weeks pregnant and I feel EVERY bit of it today.  I have had a few sick moments but only one bad day of morning sickness...well, today was one of those days.  I woke up sick at my stomach and it has lasted ALL day.  I didn't do too well with keeping something in my stomach every few hours because I just didn't feel good.

Here is the Nine Week Update from the

How your baby's growing:

Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

He or she has been very busy.  My tummy is still bloated and I look waaaay further along than what I really am.  I haven't gained any weight yet and have actually lost a few pounds (due to probably just drinking water).  I am sure I would lose another 10 pounds if I could just get really regular.  Sorry, friends, plum juice will NOT work for me...I couldn't even gag it down last night.  HORRIBLY gross.  I have a very active gag reflex anyway...and food/drink really sets it off.

My pants are getting a little tighter around the will be fun when I have an actual baby bump instead of a constipation bump.  ha!

My first OB appointment is scheduled.  The soonest Cornerstone could get me in was April 22!  I will be 11 weeks at that point.  I am excited.

Fleet Glycerine Suppositories work wonders and will not harm the baby. Check with your doctor.

First time reader of your blog today! What an exciting and emotional adventure! I live in AZ and got your blog address from someone on Hope its okay that I am reading. I had a miscarriage back in August as well and my husband and I are preparing to do IVF this summer. I am sure that everything you have written about will make more sense as we get started but I just wanted to thank you for sharing your story because it is giving me hope. We are going on 6 years of ttc. My blog is private but I wouldn't mind inviting you if you had an interest in talking. God bless and many happy wishes for a healthy and successful pregnancy!
