I'm Green but it ain't St. Patty's Day...

Wow...I think I have officially entered morning sickness. Today at 1 pm...BAM! Dry heaving. It is 10:37 pm and I have yet to get any relief from being just "green".

I am thankful for the symptom but am not really embracing it like I said I would. I called the clinic and Debby (IVF nurse) said "GOOD GOOD!!!". Yeah, funny Debby, very funny. She said I can have ginger stuff (ale, snaps, etc), crackers, sprite, green apples...but unless I can't hold anything down...no Zofran for me. If anyone has any Zofran???? I will pay TOP DOLLAR! lol...jk, well, maybe not. :-)

Any suggestions besides the above??????

other than the ginger stuff, sour stuff seems to work for a lot of people (including me) you could try preggie pops. Also, the wintergreen life savers mints were life savers...no pun intended. :/ But seriously they were great! Several of my friends used them too along with the sour stuff. :)

Try eating just a few blanched almonds (not roasted, not salted). They're very alkaline. I'll tell you, they've not helped me, but they've helped several of my friends.

Right now, all things mint are my friends. I'm not a gum chewer normally, but I'm chewing really stong mint gum (especially in the car!). Also, mint tea, and small amounts of mint ice cream.

OH! And you might try those travel bands for your wrist. I've used them for motion sickness, and used them while travelling recently, and they reduced the nausea greatly. And, they're not putting anything INTO your body. You should be able to find them at any drug store.

The preggie pop drops were great for keeping me from barfing in the middle of meetings and such. They're good for temporary relief. But, it took me 3 kids to figure out the best way to fend off sickness is to EAT. Every 2 to 3 hours. Every hour if you have to. Small meals, very frequently.

Try prego pops! I've heard they work miracles.

I never had morning sickness, so I feel bad for you.

I do have zofran, though, leftover from a recent bout of stomach flu. :)

I have not had morning sickness, but i do have meds that make nauseated. I recommend Tazo or Yogi bring hot ginger teas or ginger chewy candies. If it is in the morning, try and eat a bit.

Call Lauren at the office.....she was sick her ENTIRE pregnancy, but may have some suggestions for you! Can't wait to hear about your ultrasound and hope you are feeling better soon!

I had a woman tell me once that she always knew she would get sick first thing in the morning when she was prego so as soon as she got up she went to the refrigerator and chug-a-lugged strawberry kool-aid. She said she figured if she was going to get sick she might as well bring up something that tasted good. Of course, for her once she got sick she was ok for the day. Cheese toast is always mild on the tummy.
