So, this post won't be long...cause I am tired, but in a nut shell...

I'M PREGNANT!

On Saturday morning I ran out of my progesterone shot and called the doc to see what I needed to do. So, he asked if I could come in today instead of Monday and I immediately said YES! I was excited because it was sooner and because I had somewhat of a surprise element!

So, I went in this morning and gave blood. They said it would be late morning or early afternoon before I would know...ugh the wait! I drove back home and waited. I tried to nap but my heart was beating so hard that I couldn't even rest! At 11:16 am the phone rang...it was AR Fertility (that's what shows up on caller ID). I just looked at the phone! I knew that call would change my life either way.

Dr. Batres is from Guatemala and the inflection in his voice is a little different. He sounded like he was going to give me bad news...but he told me my test came back positive! My HCG level is at 68.7! My new favorite number! He said that was a great number. He said it probably only supported one embryo though - which is FINE! Then he came back and said, "AND we are testing a day early so that number is REALLY good". I have to take the progesterone shots for another 2 weeks (which is fine). I asked if I could switch to the pills and he said no. :-( bummer the shots are better.

I have another appointment on Tuesday for a repeat QHCG (Quantitative HCG) and he wants to see that 68.7 double. Anything over 25 is considered pregnant!

This is from www.americanpregnancy.com

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :
  • 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
  • 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
  • 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
  • 6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
  • 7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
  • 9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
  • 13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
  • 17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
  • 25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
  • Non-pregnant females: <5.0>
  • Postmenopausal females: <9.5>
I am tired and have had a long day :-) A GOOD but long day! I will post tomorrow on how I told our parents...I was so thankful for the surprise element!

"Thank You, Jesus, for the HUGE blessing! I never thought I would ever get here and it is the best feeling in the world. Matt and I thank You for entrusting us with this little one. We are blessed beyond measure. We will take this journey one day at a time. Help us always keep You first and keep our eyes on You through whatever may come. "
