Day Two of Shots...

Today was NOTHING! I refused to anticipate the shot! Thank you, Jesus! I started with the second shot (Bravelle & Menopur, the one that gave me fits yesterday with mixing)! I was all business and didn't think about it...pinched my stomach and "jab". Perfect!

The Leuprolide was a breeze too! The needle is smaller on that one! So, today was awesome! I have had a little nausea but all is well.

Day Two is in the books. Day Three will be an exact repeat of today...Day Four (Tuesday) will consist of a clinic appointment (for lab work to see how my hormones are responding) and my normal two shots of Bravelle/Menopur and the Leuprolide. Depending on my hormone levels they may adjust my "recipe" of Bravelle/Menopur to keep my hormones at the desired levels.

ANSWER TO PRAYER!! The day after Egg Retrieval I will begin taking daily progesterone shots. This shot is HUGE. The needle looks like a straw (a drinking straw). That is how BIG the barrel of the needle is. UGH. Anyway, I was very nervous because I cannot do the Intramuscular ones and I had NO idea who could help me. Again, Matt will smooth pass out. At church this morning one of our new found friends, Deana, was asking me how everything was going. I explained that I had a near mini meltdown and how I was praying for a nurse around where I live to help me with the IM/Progesterone shot...

Well, should I question how God works? YAY! Deana's husband is recovering from a brain tumor. He has to take two IM shots a DAY! And, guess who gives it to him....DEANA! And, she said, "Lisa, I have given Neil two IM shots a day for a year! I can help you with your shots!" I was thrilled...but I started questioning because I didn't want to be a burden. The shots are time sensitive and have to be taken between 6-8 pm. The church where Matt is a youth pastor is 30 minutes away from our house so I was like, man, this is going to be hard. We live so far out from where our church family lives...but WHY do I question God? Deana asked me where I lived and I told her...believe it or NOT...they live about 5 minutes away from us! They make the drive every Sunday like we do! WOO HOO! She said she would LOVE to help me and it was NO problem.

God is good. God answered that need within 15 hours of me praying for it! With Day Two in the books - bring on Day THREE!

I actually had to give myself the progesterone shot, my hubby couldn't do it either. It wasn't that bad, he pulled the skin apart I would put the needle in my buttcheek and then he would push the syringe. Sounds horrible but worked out well for us, he hates needles or the thought of hurting me. I'm sure the next time will be the same:)

I am so glad that God is in the details!! Imgine how hopeless we would feel if we were left to our own demise.
