Day eight started with a doctor's appointment at 8:30. I could get used to going in on Saturdays...no traffic...one other person in the waiting room...really quiet. There is no down time for Fertility Clinics. All of the ladies/patients are all on different schedules and that includes Saturday and Sundays.
I saw Dr. Moutus again and we did lab work and an ultrasound again. This time on my ultrasound he measured seven to eight follicles that were probably going to be big enough to retrieve. YAY, that was two more than I had hoped! He said not all of those follicles will house an egg but we had enough to do what we needed to do. How they decide on which follicles to target to retrieve is based on size. Dr. Moutus said between 18-20 mm in size per each follicle.
Seven to eight follicles is still on the low side but Dr. Moutus said we had enough to do what we needed to do. I am so glad I videoed my shots last night because last night was THE LAST NIGHT of my duel shots! YAY!
We are ready for retrieval on Monday! I have to take my "trigger" shot of Ovidrel tonight at 11:30 pm! That is proof that the fertility business never sleeps! I have to take that shot exactly 36 hours before my retrieval.
I have to be at the clinic at 10 a.m. on Monday with the retrieval scheduled at 11 a.m. Tomorrow is SHOT free! I do have to take a couple of antibiotics but hey, oral medication is GRAND!
My spirits are OK. I am nervous and excited and ready for this to be over with. I am so thankful that I have only one shot tonight. I will post a picture of the shot tomorrow!
